DV Cleared 3rd line Application Support Engineer

Job Title: DV Cleared Senior Core Applications 3rd Line Engineer / Subject Matter Expert\n Location: Portsmouth\n Duration: Until 31/12/2026 with possible extension\n Rate: Up to £500 per day via an approved umbrella company\n Must be willing and eligible to go through the DV Clearance process\n \n Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a Senior Core Applications Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting our client's secure military systems, directly contributing to this mission.\n \n What you'll be doing:\n * Managing and resolving escalated incidents on complex, secure systems, often remotely from 2nd line teams\n * Delivering infrastructure development, testing upgrades, patches, and deploying new software solutions\n * Owning problems and incidents, providing dependable support and solutions\n * Contributing to exciting project work, especially if you are a subject matter expert in key technologies\n * Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and security\n \n What you'll bring:\n * Proven experience with SharePoint (server management, permissions, application integration)\n * Knowledge of VMWare Horizon View VDI and vSphere virtualization\n * Strong scripting skills, particularly PowerShell\n * Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2022, Hyper-V, and Exchange 2016\n * Familiarity with Group Policy management and Microsoft Skype Server\n * A broad technical skill set with the ability to adapt and specialise in areas of expertise\n * Dependability, problem ownership, and a proactive approach to support\n \n Ideal candidates will also have:\n * Experience working within secure, military or government environments\n * A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills\n \n Qualifications:\n * Relevant certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or security are advantageous\n * A background supporting secure, mission-critical systems\n \n Join our client's team and help build a safer, more sustainable future.
